Chemistry & Ethics: Lecture to Be Held at Yonsei University

In the frame of “International Year of Chemistry”, proclaimed from the United Nations for the year 2011, the Office of S&T of the Embassy of Italy in Seoul, the Italian Cultural Institute in Seoul and the Yonsei University will be hosting a Lecture focused on the day by day growing ethical responsibility of Chemistry and related activities.

Lecturer will be Prof. Francesco Dondi, a distinguished scientist and full Professor of Ferrara University in Italy, since many years deeply approaching the links between natural sciences and humanities.

The focus of the Lecture is related to the exploitation of new ways, through the Chemistry, for a new educational path that could take into account not only the technical and economic aspect of an industrial process or plant, but also the ethical aspect of Chemistry in front of the environment safeguard, the social life, the human respect and all the links in the frame of a new “Culture of Responsibility” able to assure a sustainable and respectful growth of a modern Country.

The Lecture “Chemistry & Ethics: Towards a Culture of Responsibility” has no fee and will take place at Yonsei University in Seoul (B130 Science hall, College of Science) on August 31st (h. 16:00-17:00).
