French Pavilion to Draw 1 Million at Yeosu Expo
Jose Freches to Build State-of-Art Prvilion at Expo Site
Mr. José Freches, commissioner of the French Pavilion at the forthcoming "Expo 2012 YEOSU"

Mr. José Freches, commissioner of the French Pavilion at the forthcoming "Expo 2012 YEOSU" hosted a press conference on Sept. 28, 2011 to explain to the local journalists about the French Pavilion.

The conference was arranged at at Institut Français in Seoul at 11 a.m. on the day by Mrs. Elisabeth Laurin, ambassador of France to South Korea.

The participants included Mr. Kwon Young-Dae, director of the Organization Committee of “Expo 2012 YEOSU,” slated for May 12 to August.

Mr. Freches presented to the media the French Pavilion to be installed at the Yeosu International Expo.

During the presentation images of the Pavilion scenography was revealed.

He also introduced "Sogeumi," the mascot of the French Pavilion.

“Our goal is to attract as many spectators as possible to our prvilion,” Mr. Freches said. “We expect to draw 1 million of them.”

He expected that a total of 8 million visitors would come to the expo site during the three-month period.

He also said that the French Pavilion would be installed in a way that will help visitors go through the geographical beauty of the overseas French islands including New Caledonia and French Polynesia.

The French Pavilion will be build in the 900 sqare- meter lot.

Mr. Freches is the president of COFRES, the French company which successfully set up the French Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo 2010.
