VonBest’s Latest Contribution to the Art World
German Ambassador to Seoul Hans-Ulrich Seidt (right) poses with German artists at KIAF 2011 held in Seoul.

In Asia VonBest is indeed in the public eye with what is the beginning of a new approach to the concept of 21st Century artwork. The Al-Fayyum series, presented by VonBest at the Korean International Contemporary Art Fair KIAF in Seoul, marks an unprecedented new artistic approach that has given experts much to talk about.

The striking images of the collection, that had combined painting, photographic, and digital methods and techniques, will remain on the collective and individual minds of all those who attended the fair; considered to be the best for contemporary art throughout Asia.

A piece from the Al-Fayyum collection

As soon as the event commenced the Korean press, VIPS and Asian merchants all showed immediate interest in the stand. The presence of the German Ambassador Dr. Seidt and of the Secretary of the Egyptian Embassy Mohammad El Halawani did not go unnoticed.

Dr. Seidt highlighted the eloquence and colour of the work whilst Mr. El Halawani praised on behalf of all the members of the Egyptian Embassy in Seoul the exhibition of the Al-Fayyum versions.

The Al-Fayyum versions are based on an artistic period in Egypt that historians consider to be extremely valuable. Maria Puell, director of the VonBest Gallery, was repeatedly congratulated for her vision of the gallery, as well as the brilliance and quality of the exhibited works.

Professional art experts agree that we are witnessing what will become one of the most representative and relevant artistic figures of the coming decades.

Private collectors around the world have been acquiring VonBest’s artworks, which has led to its revaluing in a very short space of time. The VonBest Gallery, that surprised the art world with its approach towards the sale of art, continues to set trends as shown in the recent fair held in Seoul.

There is no doubt that the collection presented in Seoul by VonBest is a turning point in the development of contemporary art, opening doors which look towards the future.
