Indian Ambassador Calls on President-Elect Madam Park Geun-Hye

Ambassador of India Vishnu Prakash today called on President-elect Madame Park Geun-hye, who assumes office as the 18th President of South Korea on Feb. 25, 2013.

Ambassador conveyed warm felicitations and greetings on behalf of the people of India, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and on his own, wishing her every success in realizing her vision of a harmonious and prosperous Korean society.

He extended an invitation to her to visit India, noting that 2013 was the 40th anniversary year of establishment of Diplomatic relations between South Korea and India.

President-elect Park Geun-hye was appreciative of Prime Minister’s message of greetings and invitation. Recalling the Strategic Partnership between the two countries, she spoke of her desire to see greater engagement and cooperation in all spheres, including trade and economic.

She remarked that India was one of the leading BRICS nations and an engine for global growth. Ambassador Prakash apprised her about the excellent state of bilateral relations which had been expanding steadily.

Madam Park was assisted by Mr. YOO IL-HO, Chief Secretary, Mr. YUN BYUNG-SE, former NSA & member of transition team, Spokesman PARK and others. Ambassador was accompanied by Deputy Chief of Mission Jeeva Sagar.
