"St. Petersburg Int'l Economic Forum" to Be Held in Seoul on April 3

In the run-up to the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, a session entitled‘Commodity and Tech Futures – Russia and the Asia Century’ will be held in Seoul, Korea on April 3, 2013 with the participation of leading business andfinancial organizations, and government representatives from Russia, the Republic of Korea, and the countries of Northeast Asia.

On April 3 in the Republic of Korea (Lotte Hotel Seoul) a special panel session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will take place with the support of the Federation of Korean Industries on the topic "Commodity and Technological Futures — A New Era in Russian and Asian Cooperation."

The session will explore the potential for the future expansion of tradeand investment between Russia, the Republic of Korea, and other Northeast Asian countries, aswell as ways for the Republic of Korea to participate in unlocking the resource potential of Siberia and developing industrial production in the Far East of Russia.

Representatives of business and financial organizations and the governments of Russia, the Republic of Korea and countries of Northeast Asia will discuss the following key topics:

•A new model for growth and development in Northeast Asia. The potential for increasingthe share of Russian resources in Asian markets and the role of Northeast Asian directinvestment and capital markets in supporting regional development in Russia.

•New trade and investment models: key infrastructure needs, trade routes, andopportunities for the further expansion of regional trade and investment.

•The demand for new technology and new approaches

– the potential for increasing Russia’s participation in the global supply chain.

•Risk mitigation and the role of governments and sovereign wealth funds in supporting economic development.

•The global context: Russia’s priorities during its G20 Presidency.
