Owner of Italy’s Over 700-Year-Old Winery
to Visit Seoul

“Marchesi de Frescobaldi” President Leonardo Frescobaldi to Host Press Meeting in Seoul
President Leonardo Frescobaldi of “Marchesi de Frescobaldi”

President Leonardo Frescobaldi of “Marchesi de Frescobaldi,” Italy’s one of the oldest winery, will visit South Korea on April 24, 2013, announced Shindong Wine, its South Korean distributor on April 17, 2013.

He is the head of sales and marketing of “Marchesi de Frescobaldi” with over 700 years of wine producing tradition. His frequent overseas business trips contribute to the growth of expansion of its finest Tuscan premium and top quality wines into the world.

On April 24, 2013 President Frescobaldi will meet with a group of local South Korean journalists at a Korean restaurant in Gwanghwamun in downtown Seoul area to promote its premium wine products further in the local market.

President Frescobaldi will leave South Korea on the following day.

History of Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi

President Leonardo Frescobaldi of the “Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi” wine company stresses the “innovation on the bases of tradition” when he explains the history and mission of the Italy’s one of the most famous wineries.

“Marchesi de' Frescobaldi,” one of the world’s oldest winery, is the leading producer of the finest Tuscan premium and top quality wines.

With more than 700 years of winemaking experience, “Marchesi de Frescobaldi” knows no satisfaction in indulging in its long tradition of 30 generations.

Numerous Roman Catholic Pontiffs became the customers of wine of Frescobaldi family. Its clients included King of England Henry VIII (1491– 1547), and early Renaissance Italian sculptor Donatello (1386 –1466) from Florence

While it puts an emphasis on its time-honored tradition “Marchesi de Frescobaldi” keeps working at innovation of the quality of its wine.

Back in 1716, the family's vineyards in Pomino were named as one of the four most respected wine areas in Tuscany in a proclamation by the Grand Duke of Tuscany.

The family also built the first cellar in Italy that used a gravity system in 1894. And the construction orders came at the insistence of the Signora Marchesa Leonia Frescobaldi — which was historic in its own way since women weren't traditionally involved in Old World wine production until the late 20th century.
