Park Geun-Hye Unwilling to Communicate
Her Undemocratic Style Leads to Impeachment
Experts point out that the current national crisis of South Korea was created by Ms. Park Geun-Hye's unwillingness to communicate with her own people as well as her own cabinet members.The disgraced Park's undemocratic leadership style and refusal to communicate are still the major problem paralyzing South Korean government.A combined number of tens of millions of people turned out on the main streets of Seoul to demand Park's resignation. Her job approval rating plummeted to 4 percent.The extremely obstinate Park was finally impeached by its National Assembly on Dec. 9, 2016. She is awaiting the final decision from the Constitutional Court deliberating her impeachment motion.A handful of her shadowy confidantes manipulated power from behind the scenes. A main inner circle member, Ms. Choi Soon-Sil, amassed a large fortune by influencing peddling involving now impeached Park.Park's refusal to communicate or lack of communication with the folks as well as her cabinet members was harshly criticized even by her own relative.Former Premier Kim Jong-Pil, a close confidant of Park's father strongman Park Chung-Hee, commented on her wanton stubbornness in his recent interview with the local media."She is too stubborn to resign," Kim said. ""Even if 50 million citizens demand her resignation, she will never step down."Kim served as prime minister twice and founded Korea CIA. He married Park's cousin. He has known Park since her childhood.In actuality, Park threw only five times of official press conferences as a president in nearly four years of her public service.Her immediate predecessor, the crest-fallen Lee Myung-Bak held 20 times during his five years of presidency. Two other predecessors, Roh Moo-Hyun and Kim Dae-Jung, held press conferences 150 times, respectively.Her refusal to hold press conferences is in stark contrast with her American counterparts as well.Experts say that the current US President Barak Obama has held press conferences over 160 times so far. Also his predecessor Geroge Bush Jr. held over 160 times of press gatherings in his presidency.They pinpoint that the both US presidents hosts press conference twice per month on average.The annual New Year's Press Conference Park held on Jan. 13, 2016, was criticized by both news medial and the people.What is worse was that Park even refused to take questions from the press gallery members at the conference prearranged by her press secretary.Park begrudgingly held another press conference to offer her apology for messing up the national governance by her abuse of presidential power.At that time she also refused to take any questions from the journalists. She merely read her statement prearranged by her secretary for 45 minutes.Experts Park's lack of communication and her authoritarian style led eventually to the national calamity hitting the entire nation.They say that Park will remain as the worst president in the history of South Korea when it comes to communicating with the people.

An effigy of disgraced South Korean President Park Geun-Hye was in prison bars in candle vigil light protest staged by millions of South Koreans in mid-December of 2016. The angry protesters demanded immediate and unconditional resignation of Park in a series of weekend mass demonstrations hitting the entire nation. They also clamoured for the arrest of the embattled president.
