The 10th Annual NYC Independent Film Festival

NEW YORK, NY — The 10th Annual NYC Independent Film Festival will take place this year from May 5 to May 12, 2019 in multiple locations at the heart of New York City. The festival serves as a unique showcase for the best of indie filmmaking from over 30 countries around the world. It boasts a wide variety of films every year spanning from comedy to art house to horror. The festival also proudly showcases films featuring Hollywood veterans such as Jeff Daniels in this year’s feature film, Guest Star, as well as Dean Winters and Britt Lower in the short, A Civilized Life.

In addition to showcasing films, the festival holds a reputation for its emphasis on educating young, independent filmmakers through panels, presentations, and networking events with industry veterans. Educational topics this year will include Women in Film, Film Archives, and LGBTQ Presence in the industry.

For the third year, the festival will be holding a Virtual Reality showcase, exhibiting the finalists in the category. The festival will also be hosting live performances by our short sketch finalists after their video screening.

The NYC Independent Film Festival celebrates true independent cinema. The non-profit organization’s mission is to support independent filmmakers and showcase the best independent films, from all around the world, to the public and the entertainment industry in New York City.
