Hyundai to Build 8 Containers for UASC
DUBAI (WAM) — The United Arab Shipping Company, UASC, has signed a contract agreement with South Korea's Hyundai Heavy Industries Company Ltd, HHI, the world's largest shipbuilder, to build eight large ships, each with a capacity of 6500 containers and an operation speed of 25.5 knot.

The UAESC will start taking delivery of the ships from March 2008 to the end of that year. The contract, at a total amount of US$834.880 million, was announced here at the UASC premises during a board meeting, chaired by the Abdullah Lootah, Under Secretary for the Ministry of Communications and Deputy Board Chairman of the UASC.
