World of Accor Expo Seoul Attracts 300 Buyers
Largest Hotel Expo in Asia-Pacific Held in Seoul
Accor's Seoul activity

"World of Accor Expo Seoul" drew nearly 300 buyers from overseas. The largest hotel expo in the Asia-Pacific area was held at Novotel-Gangnam Hotel in the southern part of Seoul from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 30, 2006.

Leading global hotel, tourism and corporate services group Accor once again selected Seoul as the host city for World of Accor for this year's expo.

According to Ray Stone, Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing, Accor Asia Pacific, the selection of Seoul to host World of Accor for the second time (after the first Expo in 2005), reflects the increasing importance of Korea to Accor.

"Korea was the best performing market for Accor Asia Pacific in 2005," said Mr Stone. "The market continues to perform extremely well for us, and we anticipate Korea soon challenging Japan as the Asia's most influential outbound market for Australia, Europe and Asian markets in the near future."

Mr. Ray Stone, senior vice president Accor Asia Pacific's Sales & Marketing Division

Mr Stone added that a total of 400 Korean travel agents and corporate representatives were expected to attend the Accor Expo from 10am to 4pm on March 30, 2006, where they would meet 44 representatives from Accor's world of 4,000 hotels and resorts. Accompanying Mr Stone will be delegates from Australia, Cambodia, China, Egypt, France, Indonesia, Japan, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and many other countries.

Accor is unique in expanding hotel brands at all levels. For example Sofitel, known as a luxury brand; Novotel, which is popular among businessmen; All Seasons, Mercure and Ibis brands, all known for being economy brands, and Formule 1. Currently there are four Accor hotels in Seoul and another Ibis hotel is to open in Myeong-dong this year.

The Expo comprises free business-appointment sessions, with luncheon as well as drinks and snacks provided at the Café Accor for all participants.
