Rembrandt's 400 Birthday to Be Marked in Seoul
Dutch Embassy Invites Gary Schwartz, Expert of Master
"A Woman Bathing in a Stream" (1655) depicts Hendrieckie, one of the women with whom Rembrandt shared his life.

In 2006 it is have been 400 years ago that Rembrandt, Holland's greatest 17th-century painter, was born. The perfect occasion to put the spotlight on this Dutch master throughout the year. Like no other artist, Rembrandt managed to capture light and shadows in paint. In addition, his drawings and etchings are unequalled. He is truly a Dutch icon

In the Netherlands many events were organized, many of them still happening.

The Netherlands Embassy in Seoul did not want this special year just pass by. Especially since the Rembrandt Exhibition in Seoul in 2003 was received with great enthusiasm and visited by an overwhelming great number of spectators, young and old.

Now the Netherlands Embassy invited an expert who would be able to give both an interesting, entertaining and educating presentation about the 'Old Master.' The Embassy is proud that Mr. Gary Schwartz has found time to accept an invitation to come to Korea from Oct. 12-14 and share his knowledge.
