Nanotechnologies:
A Quiet Revolution of Our Way of Living

F. Carassiti (University of Rome TRE, Italy)

Potential applications of nanotechnologies are not only limited to high added value niche goods or medium-long term revolutionary innovation. A number of easily and quickly transferable know-how is on-going to be available for population and enterprises, even in highly diffused products.

Industrial sectors ranging from aerospace/aeronautics to biomedicine, from advanced mechanics to ceramic tiles, from textile to furniture are concerned.

Italian and European experiences for shortening innovation chain and reducing the time to take advantage from nanotechnologies are introduced.
