US urged to end the war, don't talk of a new one
Dubai (WAM) —The US is trying to prepare the world for a "Third World War" against an adversary called "Islamic militancy,, a UAE daily deplored.

'"The fresh warning by its top army general in Iraq, John Abizaid, has been aired as if the war has not started yet. It appears that the thousands of people being killed by the forces from 36 nations taking part in the war against "Islamic fascism" are not enough to consider the war on terror as a Third World War, remarked the Gulf News.

In its daily comment, the Dubai-based daily paper said :"'It is worth remembering that the term "war on terror" was coined by President George W. Bush following the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the US. Later, for the sake of being more precise, he changed the term to "world war against Islamic fascism."

'"So what is new in Abizaid's dire warning of an impending war? Harvesting the sour fruit of the Iraq war, the general may be warning that America is losing the war against "Islamic fascism" as a decoy and the need to employ every possible means to win it. Abizaid is trying to convince the world of the importance of winning the war for the sake of security and prosperity of his country and is using sensationalism to express his views against the rise of Islamic militancy."'it said.

According to the Gulf News, he seems uninterested in counting the thousands of innocent lives lost in the war against terrorism in an area stretching from Indonesia to New York.

"'Regardless of the war and the lives that have been lost and those that have yet to be sacrificed, the US administration, instead of finding an amicable solution, wants us to be ready for further destruction.

'"Islamic fascism is a myth the US wants the world to believe, while supporting the killing of more civilians, mainly Muslims, in Afghanistan, Iraq and Palestine. If at all we have come to such a situation, where suspicion and mistrust rule the world, it is due to the lack of foresight and the blind support the US lends to unjust situations in the Islamic world.

"' The world should first end the "Third World War," started some six years ago, instead of preparing for another bloody round.
