India's Gujarat State Delegation Arrives in Seoul to Showcase Investment Opportunities
A high-level delegation of business leaders and government officials from the State of Gujarat, which has achieved an average annual growth rate of over 10 percent in the last five years, a figure higher than that of the ‘Asian tigers’ arrived here today for a 4 day visit to meet with corporations and organizations in Seoul. Organized by iNDEXTb, the official investment promotion agency of the State of Gujarat, the delegation will showcase opportunities for investment and discuss cross-border partnerships in advance of the much-awaited Vibrant Gujarat Summit in 2011.

Led by Mr. Ravi Saxena, Additional Chief Secretary, Science and Technology Department, Government of Gujarat, the delegation comprises top executives from leading business in Gujarat and industry associations across various sectors.

The delegation is staying at Millenium Seoul Hilton Hotel between the 15th and 18th of August 2010. The convener Mr. Ravi Saxena and key delegates listed above are available for interviews with the media. Please contact Ms. Deepa Sharma (details on top) to schedule an interview.

Located on the western coast of India, Gujarat is a leading industrial state with a unique combination of strategic geographic location, state-of-the-art infrastructure, multilingual workforce and concentration of corporate and financial resources. Its proactive government and business-savvy population make a perfect ground for businesses to flourish. By carefully planning special industrial zones and investment regions, the state has created a much more conducive business and regulatory environment within many industries, including Electronics, Chemicals and Petrochemicals. With South Korea’s strong foothold in these sectors, the delegation’s meetings will provide an excellent foundation for building partnerships that will invigorate the economies of both regions.

On behalf of Gujarat’s Honourable Chief Minister, Narendra Modi, Mr.Ravi Saxena extended a warm invitation to South Korea’s business leaders, investors, corporations, academic leaders and policymakers to the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Summit, January 12-13, 2011, in the city of Gandhinagar, the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. “This biennial global summit will serve as the perfect platform to understand and explore business opportunities in the State of Gujarat, as well as an opportunity to showcase products and services and hold one-to-one meetings and roundtable conferences between prospective investors and government officials. The last four summits have been a major success with more than 20,000 delegates from 47 different countries gathering in Gujarat to discuss new cross-border investment opportunities or ways to expand existing operations.”
