Seoul Int’l Travel Fair 2010 Opens Sept. 13 for 5-Day Run at Grand Hyatt Hotel
The Seoul International Travel Fair 2010 will open at Grand Hyatt Seoul from Sept. 13 to 17, 2010 with the participation of some 400 tourism experts from 20 countries.

The event is aimed at enhancing Seoul’s image as a global tourism destination seeks to enhance Seouls image as a global tourism destination by forming strong networks between domestic and international tourism enterprises by conducting a tourism business forum, a spokesman for the organizing committee of the travel fair told the Seoul Times.

Some 100 local tour agencies and about 90 others from 19 foreign countries, including China, Japan, India, the United States, Bolivia and Thailand will hold business consultations at the “Business Travel Mart,” which will open, Sept. 15 and 16, at the fair venue to help support and promote the Korean inbound tourism industry

the organizer will award 11 individuals and institutions for their contribution to revitalization of the tour industry, in six categories, including tour commodities, tour companies, tour services, tourists and special division.

The Seoul city government has changed the event to a business oriented one this year from the award oriented one over the past two year which was inaugurated as an annual event in 2008.

The year 2010 is starting year of “Visiting Korea2010~2012 and the Seoul International Travel Fair 2010 is expected to serve as a good occasion to showcase the truth visible features of Korea to visiting foreign tourism industry stakeholders.

During the fair period, a Travel Mart is scheduled to be held with the participation of the specialists from domestic and foreign travel trade communities.
