"Exhibition of Two Ukrainian Artists" in Seoul

Ukraine Ambassador to Seoul Volodymyr Belashov helped to arrange an exhibition of two Ukranian artists in downtown Seoul as a way of promoting the art and culture of his country.

The exhibition of Ukrainian sculptor Volodymyr Filatov and the Ukrainian embrodery artist Anzhelika Rudnytska is going on at Gallery Yianjae in Seoul's Seongbuk-dong from Feb. 23 to March 9, 2011.

Nine pieces of Filatov's small-scale sculpture works and some 20 embrodery works of the needle-work artist are on display at the gallery, grabbing the attention of both local Koreans and international people in Seoul.

The opening ceremony of "Exhibition of Two Ukrainian Artisits" was held at the gallery at 7 p.m. on Feb. 23 (Wednesday), 2011. A host of lovers of Ukrainian art were invited to the opening reception.

Numerous diplomatic community members in Seoul were also invited to the event. Among them were Russian Ambassador Konstantin Vnukov, and his wife Mrs. Yulia Vnukova, Turkish Ambassador Erdogan Iscan, Azerbaijan Ambassador Rovshan Jamshidov, Belarus Charge d'Affaires Dmitry V. Koltsov, and Kyrgyz Charge d'Affaires Chyngyz Eshimbekov.

A group of South Korean musicians added a flavor to the opening ceremony of the Ukrainian art exhibition. The local musician drew a big hand from the crowd.

The exhibition was hosted by President Shim Sil of Ukraine Culture and Art Council.
