Diplomatic Academy Set Up for New Diplomats
KNDA to Replace the Current Exam System Gradually
KNDA Director Kim Byung-Kuk

Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) was officially established in a ceremony held at KNDA building in Seoul's Seochong-dong on April 24, 2012.

South Korean Prime Minister Kim Hwang-Shik and South Korean Foreign Minister Kim Seong-Hwan were among the high-profile participants for the KNDA's opening ceremony.

KNDA Director Kim Byung-Kuk delivered the opening speech and both Premiere Kim and Foreign Minister Kim made a congratulatory speech, respectively during the ceremony.

In the latter half of 2013 KNDA will start recruiting students for the two-year graduate program for producing diplomats.

Up until now South Korea's career diplomats have been selected by the government-administered high-level examinations.

The current exam system will be scrapped phase by phase due to the establishment of the diplomatic academy.
