US$144,000 TOEFL®, TOEIC® Scholarships Awarded
2012 ETS Scholarship Award Ceremony

Seoul, Korea (July 18, 2012) — Yesterday, 48 Korean students were awarded TOEFL® and TOEIC® scholarships at the fifth annual ETS Scholarship Program in Seoul, Korea. Valued at approximately US $144,000, the scholarships recognized the academic excellence of Korean students and will assist them in achieving their educational and career goals in Korea or overseas.

“After five years, we are pleased to continue the ETS Scholarship Program here in Seoul,” commented Chuck Melley, ETS’s Executive Director of Government & External Relations. “Honoring the academic excellence of Korean students aligns directly with ETS’s nonprofit mission to advance the quality of education worldwide. We wish these exemplary students all the best in their education and future careers.”

Of the 24 TOEFL scholarships awarded, 12 scholarships, each valued at US$3,000, were presented to students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Korea. The remaining 12 TOEFL US$3,000 scholarships were awarded to students studying abroad for either undergraduate or graduate school. In addition, 24 US$3,000 TOEIC scholarships recognized students studying in Korea.

Since its inception in 2008, 158 scholarships worth approximately US$560,000 have been awarded through the ETS Scholarship Program.
