ICCK to Host 25th Speakers Forum on
"Korea Economic Growth & Forecast 2015"

S. Korea's Economic Trends to Be Explored at Forum

Chairman Shashi Maudgal of Indian Chamber of Commerce in Korea (ICCK) will organize the 25th Speakers Forum under the title of "Korea Economic Growth & Forecast 2015" at Daewoo Foundation Building in downtown Seoul on March 30 (Monday), 2015, ICCK announced in its news release.

The ICCK's Speakers Forum will be held at the conference room on the seventh floor of Daewoon Foundation Building in Toegye-ro in Seoul's Jung-gu area from 4: 45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. on the day.

Under the theme of "The Korea Economic Growth and Forecast 2015" Dr. Choi Nam-Suk, a research fellow of Korea Economic Research Institute (KERI), will make a presentation on the Korean economic trends.

In particular, Dr. Choi will explore the possible effects from global economic factors on Korean economy such as drop in oil prices, the rise in interest rates in the U.S., reduction of Korean benchmark rate, a dramatic weakening of the Japanese yen, slowdown in Chinese growth, and delayed recovery of global economy.

In addition, South Korea's future-oriented economic partnership with such emerging economies as India will also be discussed.

Everyone is cordially inivited to the 25th ICCK Speakers Forum, which provides the great opportunity for professional and social networking. The forum is also aimed at presenting ideas on the Korean economic forecast.

The ICCK press release said that last year South Korea recorded the largest current account surplus of nearly 90 billion dollars due to the dramatic fall in international oil prices, a year-on-year decrease in imports (1.3%), an increase in exports (0.5%) and the growing goods balance (1.3%).

It further said that Standard & Poor's (S&P) views with a very positive outlook on the Korean Economic growth for this year at 4 percent which is higher than 3.8 percent expected by Korean government, thanks to trade growth and the strong dollar policy impacted by the US economic recovery.
