AICEP Chairman to Come to Seoul to Open
Its Branch in S. Korea

Mr. Miguel Frasquilho to Meet Local Media in Seoul
Mr. Miguel Frasquilho, chairman and chief executive officer of AICEP

Mr. Miguel Frasquilho, the chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of AICEP, the Portuguese Trade & Investment Agency, will come to Seoul on Oct. 26-28, 2015.

During his three-day visit to South Korea Mr. Frasquilho will officially launch AICEP's branch in South Korea, according to the Portuguese Embassy in Seoul.

He will also explore chances for potential investment by the local Korean companies into the European nation.

The decision to open AICEP's branch in the nation was made following Portuguese president's visit to South Korea last year.

Portugal's President Anibal Cavaco Silva visited South Korea on July 19-21, 2014, holding the summit talks with her South Korean counterpart Park Geun-Hye in Seoul on the last day of his official three-day state visit.

During the summit talks held at Park's presidential Blue House the two leaders discussed ways to expand cooperation in trade, investment, and renewable energy.

A news release from the embassy described the planned opening of the AICEP's branch as "proof of the importance of the Korean market for Portuguese companies and for attracting investment to Portugal."

On Oct. 26, 2015 Chairman Frasquilho will have a breakfast meeting with a group of South Korean journalists at Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seoul, according to the embassy.

He will also introduce Portugal to the local press corps members under the theme of "Invest in Portugal, Right Choice, Right Time!"

The local news media will be given an opportunity to gain insight into the latest structural reforms and performance of the Portuguese economy, its competitive advantages, and its business environment, according to the embassy.

"AICEP Portugal Global," or Portuguese Trade & Investment Agency, is a government business entity
aimed at attracting foreign investment to Portugal and supporting the internationalization of Portuguese companies.

Created in 2007, AICEP has been promoting the investment in Portugal by the best foreign companies. It also help Portugues companies to be successful abroad in their internationalization processes or export activities.

"AICEP Portugal Global" is now headed by Mr. Miguel Frasquilho, its chairman and chief executive officer (CEO).
