The tragedy and shame of cruelty to dogs and cats in South Korea continues. This is despite the majority of the populace wanting this cruelty eradicated, not least the admirable animal welfare groups of South Korea, working so hard to close the dog farms and end the evil which is Boknal (Day of Dog).

Ulsan has a marvellous website, showing a lovely city — yet the Ulsan Dog Meat Market and slaughter house have been featured worldwide as the site of terrible and barbaric treatment of dogs. Cruelty, as in China and Indonesia, which has no part on the modern civilized world stage.

Now with worldwide petitions against the 2018 Winter Games being held in South Korea It is well time the government started to care, for it is they who allow the loophole which gives these maniacs free rein to carry out their sadistic practices,

The world, and by this I mean Europe, the USA, Canada and Australia will not give up until the South Korean government legislates against the killing of dogs and cats for meat (totally unnecessary in a country which has the fourteenth world economy) and bring about legislation to protect dogs, cats, and other animals.

There are too many world petitions outraged at South Korean dog farms, Boknal, and animal cruelty, to list. Gone are the days when it could be excused as a ‘cultural thing’ (large contradiction in terms!) when the majority of the South Korean population are also outraged at the atrocities and want them ended with laws to protect dogs and cats.

The South Korean government, by their apathy to dogs and cats, are jeopardizing South Korea on the world stage and even those lacking in humanity, who may care nothing for our fellow sentient creatures, should be aware that trade and hosting world events will be affected unless new legislation is urgently introduced to end the killing of dogs and cats, to close down the dog farms and outlaw Bokmal (so called ‘festival‘ of killing) . It is therefore, in everyone’s interest to get this law set in place and implemented.
