6th World Green Energy Forum Kicks Off Today for 3-Day Run in S. Korea's Gyeongju City
Ex-French President François Hollande, Key-Note Speaker at "2018 World Green Energy Forum"

 | For the big picture please click the photo. | "2018 World Green Energy Forum (WGEF)" kicks off on Nov. 7 (Wednesday), 2018 in South Korea's Millennium City of Gyeongju, the ancient capital of Shilla Kingdom with the participation of a total of 3,000 former heads of states, chiefs of global organizations, top foreign envoys, and other experts and professionals on the green energy from some 30 countries.The 6th WEGF, one of the largest gatherings of scholars and experts for green energy in the world, is being held at two venues, Hilton Hotel and HICO (Hwabaek International Convention Center) in Gyeongju for the three-day run.Among the dignitary participants for this biannual event is the former French President François Hollande, the key-note speaker for the "6th WGEF."The ex-French president delivers a speech on how the nuclear and renewable energy can co-exist in the future. In his key-note speech he also elaborates on the role of renewable energy and ways to promote it for South Korea. | Ex-French President François Hollande | The government of North Gyeongsang Province wants to lead South Korea's green energy industry on the basis of "Renewable Energy 2030" project of South Korea. It aims to promote the portion of the green energy in proportion to the entire energy up to 20 percent by the year 2030.The 6th World Green Energy Forum (WGEF), the South Korea's largest green energy forum, is co-hosted by North Gyeongsang Province, Gyeongju City, the local Korea Economic Daily, and the Energy Industry Promotion Agency (EIPA). The upcoming forum is divided into five different sessions: Solar, Offshore Wind Mills, Fuel Cell, ESS (Energy Saving System), and Smart City & Grid session. Presentations of businesses will also be held for the businessmen and industrialists in the area. Five global experts represent each of the five sessions. They are Tees Nachtigall for offshore wind mill, Ryan Hoest for ESS, Gordon Falconer for smart city & grid, Tatsuya Kawada for fuel cell, and Renate Egan for solar energy session, respectively.Mr. Tees Nachtigall is business development manager of Global Wind Certification at UL, Germany; Mr. Ryan Hoest is principal and co-founder of EcoVox Inc., USA; Mr. Gordon Falconer is director of Smart Cities for Schneider Electric in Singapore; Prof. Tatsuya Kawada of Tohoku University in Japan; and Dr. Renate Egan is the professor of the University of New South Wales in Australia. | Mr. Lee Kwang-Yeol, president & CEO of Yokji Wind Co. Ltd. | Among the noted local Korean participants are Dr. Sung Jin-Ki of Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning and Prof. Son Choong-Yul, vice president of World Wind Energy Association (WWEA). Prof. Son also serves as chairman of the Korean Wind Energy Industry Association (KWEIA). They both are the noted scholars on the offshore wind mills.The two Korean scholars are nation's representative experts on the green energy sector, particularly on the offshore wind mill area."This forum dovetails with the green energy policy of this President Moon Jae-In's Korean government perfectly," said Mr. Lee Kwang-Yeol, president & CEO of Yokji Wind Co.
