BH Productions to Stage "Waiting for Godot"
A scene of "Waiting for Godot"

Theatre companies around the world are celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Irish playwright Samuel Beckett's birth. Born on April 13, 1906, Samuel Beckett became one of the most influential writers of the 20th century.

To celebrate the writer's centenary, BH Productions, a not-for-profit theatre company based in Seoul, has decided to stage Beckett's most celebrated play, "Waiting for Godot."

As part of the St. Patrick's Day festivities, BH Productions is hosting a Gala Night for Charity on Saturday, March 18, 2006. The evening will commence at 7:30 p.m. with a light buffet and wine reception, catered by La Cigale Montmartre and La Tavola, accompanied by live Irish music. Traditional Irish stew will also be served.

His Excellency, Irish Ambassador Conor Murphy, will give a welcoming address, and then, at 8:30 p.m., the performance of Waiting for Godot will begin.

Tickets for the evening are 40,000 won and all proceeds will go to charity. The venue for this event is The Space Theatre, in the Space Group building, located at Anguk Station, Jongno-gu. (Please see below for directions/address in English and Korean.) Parking is available.

As a means to express our appreciation for all of your support, BH Productions offers a special promotion available only to those of you who are on our mailing list. Saturday, March 18, is also the Hooley (Irish party with free draught Guinness and food) at the Westin Chosun Hotel.

For the first twenty (20) people who make a reservation for the Gala Night for Charity, we will include in your admission to the Gala Night a FREE ticket to the Hooley after the Gala Night event. Only one ticket per email. For more information about the Hooley and all St. Patrick's Day events, please visit
