EUCCK Launches PR & Marketing Committee
Inaugural Lunch Meeting with Editors of Local Papers

The European Union Chamber of Commerce (EUCCK, is pleased to announce the launch of the PR & Marketing Committee, with the active participation of CEOs, PR, Marketing & IR Executives of leading member companies.

Mr. Seol Dowon, executive director of Corporate Affairs Group, Samsung Tesco Homeplus co. Ltd. is the chairman of the new committee.

The purpose of the PR& Marketing Committee is to help the member companies update their communication skills and bring them up-to-date with the marketing strategies that will help them in their business operations in Korea.

As the first step in this direction, the committee has organized a luncheon meeting on "Communicating Effectively with the Local Press– Know how and Experience of the Chief Editors of Leading Newspapers."

The chief editors of powerful and progressive daily newspapers in Korea- Hangyoreh and Maeil Business Newspaper, will give valuable tips to foreign investors and business leaders on how to communicate with the local press, on July 11th, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

Foreign investors are aware that if they want to do business effectively in Korea, it is critical to understand the local press and gain their trust.

Ms. Kwon Tae-Sun, editor in chief, Hankyoreh Newspaper will speak on the "Relationship between the Press and Market for Success in Business" and give tips on building a relationship with the press.

Mr. Han Myung-Kyu, editor in chief, Maeil Business Newspaper will speak on "How to Maximize Your Presence in Media" and will give tips on how a foreign company can effectively access a business daily in the country.

Mr. Jean-Jacques Grauhar, secretary general, EUCCK, noted that with the launch of the PR & Marketing Committee, the Chamber now has a total of 26 committees, which cater to the diverse needs of different member companies.

"As with the 25 other Committees of the Chamber, the PR&M Committee will develop ideas and thoughts that establish the EUCCK's overall position on relevant matters. We are confident that it will be beneficial for our member companies in helping them do effective business in Korea."

The European Union Chamber of Commerce in Korea, a non-profit organization, is made up of around 800 members from the EU, local as well as overseas business community. The purpose of the Chamber is to help in any possible way to develop trade, commercial and industrial relations between the EU and Korea. It paves the way for and fosters contacts between interested business circles of the 25 EU member states and the Korean Peninsula.
