Now Is the Time to Silence the Guns!"
By Thomas Emmon Pisano US Correspondent
 | Garden of Eden | Now is the time to take the initiative to bring the hatred and the bloodshed to a close. Are your Nations willing to sit down and negotiate? Israel and Palestine, are you ready to sue for peace? The hand of tolerance and understanding has been extended towards hope; the world is ready to see peace in the Middle East. Hatred and ideological violence are primitive and obsolete; they have no purpose in our world. These differences between your people only effect more hatred and suffering and the feud you are fighting will be visited upon your children for generations. There is a rare window of opportunity available now for the peoples of the world, an opportunity for hope and redemption, we want to see harmony between your two Nations. We crave an end to the bombings around our globe and we crave an era of friendship, brotherhood and understanding. Israel, could you begin to understand the pain that Palestine feels towards past actions, and Palestine, could you take it into your heart and see why Israel is the way it is. By feeling empathy and walking in your brothers shoes for a while you will shake the apathy and begin to grow closer to an appreciation of one another's needs for survival. It has been said that this is a small planet upon which we live, nothing could be truer and to the point; we are all global neighbors, we all have a need for security and we all need to respect the rights of our fellows. I cannot emphasize more deeply the need we all have for tranquility. We have seen so much war and its destruction in our history as human beings, is it not time to leave war behind us, time to clean up the devastation and begin to plant gardens of prosperity around the world? Think about it; nations building houses where rubble once stood, schools and hospitals, power plants and agriculture thriving where there was once military bases, missile silos and bomb debris. Now is the time to silence the guns forever! Hammer your tanks into tractors and harvesters, create prosperity where there was once smoke and fire. In a time when global destruction is only thirty minutes away, it would only make sense to be sure that peace should prevail at all cost. With out a doubt, the key to world peace lies in the hearts, hands, and minds of the Middle East. All self interested parties, no matter who you are, should leave these peoples alone to negotiate their differences with out manipulation and grudge. They are infants in their new search for peace through negations, children in the world of diplomacy, born anew to the possibility of happiness and prosperity. This potential happiness should be allowed to flourish; the taste of it should be savored in the mouths of the anguished. We, the peoples of the world community sit with great anticipation, on the edge of our seats to see the next page in this chapter of the world. We are hoping that world leaders will make all the right choices and give us again a Garden of Eden, a place for the children to laugh and smile in the sun.
