Israel & Palestine: Is Peace on Horizon?
An Open Letter to These World Leaders
By Thomas Emmon Pisano
US Correspondent
Downtown Lebanon is under attack by Israeli forces.

On November 27, 2006, the newspapers were filled with the offer that Israel and Palestine should be willing to sue for peace and to offer terms for a final agreement towards a lasting cease-fire.

Every one in the world knows that this is a most difficult thing, to reduce the hatred, stop the violence and to make the world of the Middle East a safe and happy place again. It is time to be peaceful and to start to make money, grow food and plan for a prosperous future. A time for children to feel safe and a time to begin to build a nation, which overlooks the past differences it has with its neighbors. Please understand that this ishard to achieve and it will take supreme efforts on the part of your leaders to make this a reality, but don't give up on peace, never.

Palestine if you do not get every thing you want during the negotiations, don't balk, get the plan started, and work towards the much-needed goals later. In the end you will see that most of the demands were met and that you are now much happier that the treaty was signed and that your people are safe and happy having a chance to live in peace. Another thing, there are those amongst you who are hot heads and full of unresolved hate, Palestine you must control these fanatics and make them understand that peace is the best thing for the future of all your people and that they must put aside their feelings for the betterment of the state of Palestine.

Israel the time has come to give your neighbors a chance to see how much of a humanitarian you really are. You are the wealthiest and the most successful country in the region because you are industrious peoples who work hard and want to grow and be prosperous. Now is the time to share the wealth you have and distribute it amongst your brothers and sisters, and show that you are part of the family of man. Israel you must remember what it was like not so many years ago when you were seeking a homeland and your people were scared of the tyrannical monsters, which dominated your lives. Now is the time to help your neighbors by quelling the violence and the bloodshed of their children.

Israel and Palestine show the world what it is like to heal the wounds, which have come from so many years of hate and violence, be the example we all wish we could be. Show us the true meaning of healing and resolve, the world needs inspiration and hope and you can show us the way.

You are the keepers of the 'Holy Land' and as caretakers of the birth place of the worlds major religions you must understand the importance for peace in the Middle East, we have looked to you in the past and hung our heads in horror and shame, yes the whole world was saddened by the war there. Now is a time for the world to rejoice and celebrate the passing of hatred into love and understanding. Please pursue this path to peace and help heal the world, bring the earth out of the shadows of evil and into the light of humanity and hope.

Thank You; Thomas Emmon Pisano
