Happy Birthday America, July 2007! Open Letter
By Thomas Emmon Pisano US Correspondent
 | US flag and Statue of Liberty | Two-hundred thirty one years old as of July fourth two-thousand seven, that is how old America is now, 231 years of age. I wanted to extend a warm and hearty congratulation to us during this birthday season. We continue to survive no matter what they throw at us. Here I am wondering how this country has survived this long with morons like George W. Bush at the helm. Let us also not forget the rest of the merry henchmen like Cheney, Liddy, and the like. I am holding my breath in anticipation of their next moves. They are going to go out with a big band, I just know it. How could they not have a big finish, their egos demand that they leave a permanent mark upon the world. The next few months will show the world just what the Bush administration is in reality. We will be revealed to the truth and we will see the heinous result of people who are wholly self-interested and self pious. Plausible deniability, that is what they call this mess in Washington, the President of the United States is insulated from all the dirty dealings which take place under his nose and consequently in and out of our pockets. We are the true victims here in the farce that is taking place in our nation's capital. We have a crook and a crooks staff working twenty four seven at getting things done for the Bush's and anything that is done for the people of America is done strictly for the show of it and is really insignificant in nature. We need to see some things taken care of here in our own country; health care reform for instance, a national health plan that we all pay for through our normal taxes. But instead the money went to a senseless war. How about rehabilitation for people incarcerated in our nations prisons, fix what is broken do not throw it away. No, we use the prison system as another form of industry; the whole law enforcement system is designed to make money for someone. Are the prison systems privately owned in some states? Is security now the most popular business in America, why are we so scared? What about the funding for things like higher education and veterans benefits? Money is disappearing and the government is not informing us of the loss of it. They are hoping the next group of political leaders will fix their mess. Indict the lot of them now and let the courts sort this out before they get to safe ground after the election. We must investigate our government now before they are allowed to put the onus on someone else. I could go on and on about the things that have lost their funding because of this great folly of a war that the Bush people have drug us into kicking and screaming. But I do have some questions I would like to ask of the authorities. For instance; what is this business about the laundering of money through Iraqi banks and the Afghanistan opium fields and their harvest that is coming soon, what about these things? Is America involved in these things, are we? Will someone please tell us the truth about our involvements? No, we must hide our heads and act like ostriches when it comes to America doing something dirty. It is because of this one action that the underhanded politicians in our government can get away with their crimes and lawlessness. Thank You America and happy birthday from Thomas Emmon Pisano!
