Actress Jane Park Smith Chosen from 33 Delegates
 | Korean American woman Jane Park Smith was crowned as Ms. America. | Costa Mesa, California – November 6, 2007 – Jane Park Smith, of Valencia, CA was crowned Ms. America ¢ç 2007-08 Saturday on Oct. 20, 2007 at the Verdugo Hills Country Club in Glendale, CA. With the title and crown and prizes, Jane also has the opportunity to represent the Ms. America ¢ç Pageant at the Ms. World finals in summer of 2008.Over 33 delegates applied for the competition where it was narrowed down to 13 finalists. Through out the three-hour competition, the finalists competed in three categories including, interview, evening gown and community service. Jane Park Smith is the fifth woman to win the title and the first Korean/American to be crowned Ms. America ¢ç. An accomplished actress, model, journalist and entertainer Ms. America ¢ç 2007-08 has also earned 2 black belts in Tae Kwon Do and Mixed Martial Arts Noysing.Formerly an internationally recognized TV news reporter, Jane has parlayed that experience into a dynamic entertainment career. Her modeling work can be seen worldwide in hundreds of print ads for companies including The Ritz Carlton, Marriott Hotels, and on magazine covers such as Martial Arts World. A former national titleholder Miss Asian America 1994-95, Jane is currently an actress. She has been featured in over 10 movies and has worked with Jackie Chan and Regina King. | Korean American woman Jane Park Smith was crowned as Ms. America. | Her heart's greatest desire is to serve and speak out for the voiceless and oppressed worldwide. Jane enjoyed serving as a spokesperson and activist for The Katrina Family Relocation Project and is currently raising support for Kenyan orphans with the Global Volunteer Network, with plans to start a non-profit organization to more effectively reach hungry orphans across the globe. First runner-up was Laura Hunter from Bellingham, WA, second runner-up was Eileen Marie Safford from Clinton, Utah, third runner-up was Rani Khetarpal from Ladera Ranch, CA and fourth runner-up was Lana Henry from San Bernardino, CA.Judges for the Pageant were Councilman and former Mayor Dave Weaver from Glendale, California, Tram Ho - Ms. America ¢ç International 2007, Debbie Nelson – Ms. America 2006-07, K.P.
