UAE will remain staunch supporter for Palestinian Cause: Sheikh Mohammed
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan meets with visiting Secretary General of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO) Yasser Abdu Rabo in Abu Dhabi on Dec. 24.

The UAE will maintain its unequivocal support for the Palestinian cause and for Palestinian people until they establish their independent state on the Palestinian land with Jerusalem as its capital, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed on Dec. 24, 2007..

"'The UAE will always back Arab and international efforts seeking to open doors for a just, lasting and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian cause.

It will also boost any effort aimed at achieving progress in the peace process,'" Sheikh Mohammed said during talks on Swx. 24 with visiting Secretary General of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO) Yasser Abdu Rabo.

During the talks, Abdu Rabo conveyed to Sheikh Mohammed the gratitude of Chairman of Palestinian National Authority (PNA) Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the continuous noble stances adopted by the UAE in support of the Palestinian cause at governmemt and popular levels.

The PLO top official also communicated a verbal message from Abu Mazen to Sheikh Mohammed about the latest developments on the Palestinian Cause following the recent US sponsored Annapolis peace conference and the donors conference in Paris as well as progress on the Palestinian-Israeli negotiations.

Sheikh Mohammed was also briefed on the PNA's course of policies in light of results of the two conferences.

Sheikh Mohammed asked Abdu Rabo to convey to the PNA chairman the appreciation of UAE president of the heroic struggle shown by the Palestinian people against the continued Israeli occupation and aggression.(Emirates News Agency, WAM)
