Adieu Bush and Welcome Obama

Outgoing President George Bush facing shoes of an Iraqi journalist in Baghdad

January 20, 2009 will be a memorable day, being anxiously awaited by the people of the world. It is a day that will say goodbye to the most controversial and criticized President George Bush 2nd in the American history and welcome to the first ever non-white president of America. About 2 million people are expected to witness this oath taking ceremony from the different parts of the world in National mall in Washington. Ninety percent tickets of the 5000 reserved tickets were sold with in one minute online by the internet service, to see the parade to be organized on this special function. People from many countries of the world want to become eye witness of the oath taking ceremony of the president that may probably attempt to bring back the lost good image of America. At the same time people want to see the farewell of the president George bush, who is said to have spoiled the good image of America. In American history, there is a record of the American president being shot at but there is no record of shoe being thrown at that has been created by George Bush only because of his actions. Undoubtedly it has become a black chapter created in Baghdad, in the American history.

In the beginning of the rule of the President Bush, the declaration of war against terrorism made the people feel that it can be fatal decision taken by Bush. The second tenure was given by the public to finalise the so said war against terrorism. But just opposite, the actions of that had no way out. If we look at the fresh statistics, we see that just after the interference of America into Iraq, about 1.3 million Iraqis had been killed whereas 4225 American soldiers, too, have laid their lives. Not only this, it is also considered as the most expensive war ever so fought. Reliable sources reveal that $587,141,917,999 has been spent on Iraq war. Even now millions of dollars, every hour, are being spent on Iraq war, without any reason. It is being considered the blackest & horrible chapter of foreign policy of US that George Bush sent his troops in Iraq. One of the important aspects for the failure of Iraq policy is that President Bush couldn't succeed in getting the declared motive achieved for which the group had laid the Trap. That's why majority of people of most of the countries of the world are demanding to declare him a war culprit & for his trial in the court.

By making an excuse of the weapon of human destruction & claiming it right for invasion of Iraq by American army, George Bush had given many paradoxical statements in this regard. Sometimes he told it a result of false information by its information centre & sometime ha said that "The war on terror involves Saddam Hussein because of the nature of Saddam Hussein, the history of Saddam Hussein, and his willingness to terrorise himself." This note of Bush forces to think that how a man who made meaningless statements, reached the Oval. Anyhow, Bush had been famous for such statements. For instance, "'I know what I believe. I will continue to articulate what I believe and what I believe – once he says "I'm the decider, and I decide what is best." & "I am the person who set & decides the policy, what is better." His one another comment- "I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully." One another- "War is a dangerous place." In another note George Bush says, "The most difficult aspect of my job is to link Iraq with the war against terrorism." Many analysts who keep watch over the American politics accept that George Bush is in the habit of making such statements that are beyond understanding. Most of his statements are difficult to follow.

Anyhow, American public is excited to see the farewell of this President who has proved a burden. It wants to make the oath taking ceremony of Obama a memorable day in the US history. Whereas Obama says, he declared in 2003 that American invasion of Iraq is unnecessary & untimely. But the arrogant nature of Bush didn't agree to the scholars & literates & brought America to a place where it has now become hateful. In the time of Bush rule, America lost its popularity the most. The wrong policies of George Bush gave strength to the thoughts of clash of civilizations in the world. Last year, before the presidential elections in America, BBC World service had done a survey in 22 countries. In this survey, 80 percent people gave their opinion in favour of Obama. People who took part in this survey said that the image lost in the Bush rule, will be set right in Obama rule.

After onwards the election of JF Kennedy in 1960, the image of America started changing as an aggressor & it was at the extreme in the time of George Bush II. Undoubtedly the election of Obama by the people of America is a vision from the public that it doesn't want to see the image deteriorating. At the same time, American people have rewarded Obama for opposing the Iraq policy. Victory of Obama is a proof that Iraq war was a mistake & is expected that now America will leave the path of war & adopt the peace process through discussions & cooperation. Before the American army interference in Iraq, the America-Vietnam war was known as a blot on the foreign policy of America. But for the wrong decisions of George Bush, now the blackest chapter of the American foreign policy is known as the American policy on Iraq. At the same time, Bush has become a symbol of idleness, inability, inefficiency & arrogance who left his office after being about beaten by shoes.

The people who wish for the peace in the world have got a clue by the victory of Obama that image of America will change in future. With the farewell of George Bush, the aggressive & arrogant U S policies will also get a farewell. At the same time, the white population of America had given a good notion by electing Obama, a non-white person with Muslim past that the Americans are liberal by nature. It is hoped that Obama will fulfil the wishes of the people of the world & will succeed in making America a liberal country.tanveerjafriamb@gmail.com
