German Envoy Promotes Its Wine at Party
"Riesling Grill Party" Held at German Envoy's Residence

German Ambassador to Seoul, Dr. Hans-Ulrich Seidt, and his wife Mrs. Marita Seidt, invited scores of friends of Germany to his residence in Seoul's Seongbuk-dong for "Riesling Grill Party" on June 10, 2010.

At the garden party the Riesling German wine and beer were introduced to the guests by the German ambassadorial couple.

The party, which started at 6 p.m. on the day, lasted into the early evening.

At the start of the party the German enovy stressed the importance of the free trade agreement between South Korea and EU in a brief speech.

Mr. Christian Ehler, head of a visiting European Parliament delegation was invited to the party.

Mr. Christian Ehler, who was born on August 17, 1963, is a German politician and member of the European Parliament for Brandenburg.

He is a member of the conservative Christian Democratic Union, part of the European People's Party.

The other guests included both local and German businesspeople. Among them were Mr. Kim Young-Jin, CEO & chiarman of Handok Pharmaceutical Co; and Mr. Yang In-Mo of Samsung Engineering Co.'s senior executive advisor.

Dr. Colin Durkop (in pink shirt), resident representative of Konrad-Adenauer Foundation's Korea Office, is shown with other guests at a garden party held at German envoy's residence.

German diplomats and government officials were also invited.
