The documentary includes Director Han's interview with Ms. Young Shim Park, a surviving 'comfort women' in North Korea.This is a dramatic encounter—-he was able to locate in North Korea 1photo which was taken at the time of World War II.
A screening of Mr. Won Sang Han's documentary about 'comfort women' which was selected for 2005 Berlin Film Festival documentary section. The documentary covers the issues and historical significance of wartime sexual slavery victimized by imperial Japan, with vivid testimonies of the surviving victims in both North and South Koreas. This is the first documentary covering both North and South Koreas.
Mr. Won Sang Han is a reporter at YTN, Korean 24 hour news channel, and is a distinguished advocate of 'comfort women' issues since early 1990's, as a researcher/reporter and producer of a series of documentaries related to the issue.
