123-Story Lotte Super Tower, New Landmark of Seoul
The 123-story Lotte World Tower in Seoul's Jamshil area is South Korea's tallest skyscraper. The superstructure is also one of world's top 10 tallest buildings.

The external construction of the 555-meter colossal monument was completed on March 17, 2016. The superstructure will remain as a beautiful monument to the skyline of capital city of South Korea although the whole construction is expected to be finished at the end of 2016.

The high-rise building will be used for retail shops, premium offices, officetels, and a super luxury hotel. The building's top 10 stories are earmarked for extensive public use and entertainment facilities including an observation deck and rooftop cafe.

The super tall skyscraper's final 123rd floor was topped out on Dec. 22, 2015. The edifice is the new landmark structure in Seoul and is currently the tallest building in the OECD countries.

The South Korea's tallest tower is located next to the existing first-generation Lotte World complex, which opened in 1989, accessible via Seoul Subway Line 2 and Seoul Subway Line 8 at Jamsil Station.

After 13 years of planning and site preparation, the tower gained final approval to start construction by the government in November 2010.

The first ground-breaking activities of piling and frame assembly was observed at the construction site in March 2011. At New Year 2016 the LED-pixels of the facade showed "2016."

The architectural wonder of South Korea was constructed with a sense of a modern aesthetic perception while its shape was inspired by the traditional Korean arts of ceramics, porcelain, and calligraphy.

On March 17, 2016, prior to the final phase of external construction, the Diagrid lantern-shaped roof structure was completed.

The conceptual design of the massive edifice calls for a slender cone with convex, gently curved sides. An exterior of pale-coloured glass draws inspiration from Korean ceramics and features accents of metal filigree.

Located near the Han River, the super tower will contain retail outlets (floors 1-12), offices (14-38), residences (42-71), a luxury hotel (76-101), private office (105-114), and public access floors (117-123) with an observation deck.

In March of 2016, the first break in and climbing incident took place while the tower was still under construction. Two photographers Vitaly Raskalov and Vadim Makhorov climbed to the top of the building and took pictures and a video.

They entered the construction site without permission. Due to people's awareness of potential North Korean attack, security was notified about this intrusion.
